The V3.0.1 Stable Build of 7 Days to Die has been released. Rather than adding new features, this is a maintenance-focused update that primarily fixes bugs reported since V3.0.0 b259. Since it’s a stable build, the update will also roll out automatically to regular players who haven’t changed their beta settings.
Hello Survivors! V3.0.1 is now Stable with fixes for several reported bugs.
— Official announcement (Steam news)
For an overview of V3.0 “Dead Hot Summer” itself, see “Dead Hot Summer” Stable Build Officially Released and the V3.0 Feature Page, and for the changes just before this, see Experimental b259 Release Summary.
How to Update
Since this is a stable build update, no special steps are required.
- When you launch Steam, 7 Days to Die will download and update automatically.
- If it doesn’t update right away, right-click 7 Days to Die in your library → “Properties” → “Installed Files” → run Verify integrity of game files.
- If you’re playing multiplayer or joining a server, both the server side and the client side must be on V3.0.1.

Key Points for Server and Multiplayer Players
For those playing on our site’s servers, there are a few fixes this time that are especially relevant.
- Resolved the bug where PvP damage was taken even with kills disabled — On PvE-oriented servers, this should improve cases where unintended friendly damage was occurring.
- Fixed the issue where placed items could not be retrieved at trader compounds — A welcome fix for anyone who used the area in front of a trader as their workspace.
- Fixed the bug where item degradation values reset on rejoin — The behavior where equipment durability would “revert” upon relogging has been corrected.
- Fixed the NRE when receiving a NetPackageLockRequest — This should improve networking stability in multiplayer.
Because this is a stable build release, it’s an update you can install without worrying about major spec changes. Our official servers will also be updated to V3.0.1 in turn. If you notice any concerning behavior, feel free to let us know on the forums or in-game. Until next time, we’ll see you in the world of Navezgane.
