In 7 Days to Die, weapons are built by combining several “parts” into a finished product. Steel Spear Parts are, as the name suggests, the key component material used to craft higher-tier spears (steel spears). Internally they sit at the tier 3 level, and they come into play when you want to step up from an early-game iron spear to something with better performance.
Purpose
This part cannot be used in combat on its own. It is strictly a component for assembling a finished weapon or for finishing an existing weapon up to a higher tier. You can think of it as something you craft or obtain depending on your smithing workbenches and the unlock status of the relevant crafting skills and schematic magazines.
How to Obtain / Craft
- Crafting: The basic route is to take steel-based materials produced through forging and process them together at a workbench or similar station.
- Looting: The part can also drop on its own from loot, wasteland areas, or high-tier containers, so you may gather some before crafting your own.
- Trader: It sometimes appears in trader stock, making it a good backup when you can’t gather materials in time.
When to Use It
For spear users, switching from iron to steel is a milestone that directly boosts both damage and durability. The introduction point is roughly mid-game and later, once you can mass-produce steel. Stocking up on several makes it smoother to upgrade your main weapon or secure spares. Since spears are reach weapons that let you thrust while keeping your distance, players who build their playstyle around fending off hordes will want to prioritize preparing this part.
