What is this MOD?
『Efficient Base Repair』appears to be a MOD that lets you repair and upgrade your base’s walls, floors, and more in bulk via a dedicated repair block. According to the author, LeopardTheBoss, it was inspired by the popular existing MOD “ocbClaimAutoRepair.”
Running around with a hammer fixing your battered base one block at a time after every Blood Moon or raid… this MOD aims to automate and streamline that tedious chore. What’s more, it dynamically displays statistics such as repair progress and required materials, so you can use it while keeping track of “how many more materials do I still need.”
Main Features
- Works by placing a dedicated block: You place a block on the structure you want to repair, then open the UI to operate it.
- Handles both repair and upgrade: Beyond simple patch-up repairs, it can also be used to upgrade blocks.
- Highly customizable: You can fine-tune its behavior via XML files, letting you set the balance yourself — anything from an “I’m-overpowered setting that instantly repairs the entire base with no materials” to a “realistic setting that repairs bit by bit and stops when materials run out.”
- Acquisition requirements: The design has it unlock at level 60 of the repair-tool skill, crafted at a workbench using forged steel, electronic parts, and a car battery.
Installation Tips
The general procedure is to download the zip and extract its contents into the ...7 Days To DieMods folder. When installing, you’ll want to keep the following points in mind.
- TFP_HARMONY (the Harmony MOD bundled with vanilla) is required.
- It needs to be installed on both the client and the server (be especially careful with multiplayer).
- It does not support EAC, so you’ll need to turn EAC off.
- The author states it is experimental, so it’s reassuring to back up your save data before installing.
- When uninstalling, you’re advised to do so only after removing all EfficientBaseRepair blocks from the world.
More detailed specifications and the code appear to be published on the project’s GitHub repository, so if you want a deeper understanding of how it works, that’s worth checking out as well.
Who is this for?
- People who have built a large-scale base and find the post-Blood Moon repair work painful
- People who want to automate repairs while adjusting the material cost balance themselves
- People who don’t mind server-side MODs or XML settings and are willing to do a bit of initial setup
Conversely, those who don’t want to upset vanilla balance, or who prefer to avoid experimental MODs, would do well to wait for a stable version or try it cautiously. Since it can be set up for anything from “moderate efficiency” to “fully automated invincibility” depending on the configuration, its appeal is that you can tune it to fit your own playstyle.
Note: The installation steps and crafting requirements may change with MOD updates. We recommend cross-checking against the latest description on Nexus before publishing.
