First Aid Bandage — A Reliable Basic Hemostatic from Early to Late Game

One of the first things you’ll want to keep on hand to survive in 7 Days to Die is the “First Aid Bandage.” As the in-game description notes, it’s a bandage infused with Aloe Cream that stops bleeding and treats wounds, and you can expect it to speed up recovery from abrasions (light injuries).

When to Use It

In combat with zombies, you can be scratched or bitten and end up in a “bleeding” state. If you leave bleeding untreated, your health steadily drains away, so the basic play is to quickly use one to stop the bleeding during or right after a fight. Since it also boosts wound recovery, it’s well suited for caring for light damage that doesn’t warrant a full-fledged medicine.

Also, as the description says, you can treat other players with the secondary action (right-click / aim button by default). In co-op play, when an ally gets hurt, you can rush over and apply a bandage to them — that kind of teamwork is possible.

Getting and Crafting It

The First Aid Bandage can be crafted mainly from cloth-based materials, and it also serves as a stepping stone toward higher-tier healing items (such as the First Aid Kit). Aloe is a plant you can gather out in the wild, so another appealing point is that it’s easy to supply yourself from early on. You can also find bandages while looting empty houses or from zombies, so gather them up whenever you can.

Summary

Cheap and easy to make, it’s an item that never goes stale from early to late game as your first move against bleeding. Keeping a few tucked away in your hotbar or pouch at all times will greatly raise your survival rate when it counts.
