On official server streams, viewers can join in on the game through a Twitch panel extension. Once a viewer “links” their account, linked members can trigger interactive actions from the panel’s buttons, such as sending the streamer a letter or dropping in a supply crate.
The current method is operated from the official panel extension placed on the stream channel. The previous “In-game Options > Twitch chat commands” method is no longer used.
How It Works
- The official panel extension “7DTD Survival Hub” is installed on the stream channel.
- Viewers open the panel and register their in-game name (and optionally their Steam ID) on the “Link” tab.
- Only linked members can send actions into the game from the buttons on the “Commands” tab.
- To prevent spamming, a cooldown applies both per-person and overall.
The name registered when linking is displayed in-game as something like “🎮 ○○ from Twitch has joined!”, so you’ll be welcomed in the game as well.
Actions You Can Send
| Action | Details |
|---|---|
| Send a letter (Small / Medium / Large) | A letter reaches the streamer. When the streamer reads it, a random event occurs based on its rank (Large is a rare tier that can produce a jackpot or a boss kill) |
| Supply crate | A resource crate appears near the streamer. Visitors on the scene can pick it up and collect it |
| Interactive reactions like cheers and applause | Displays messages like “📣 ○○: You got this!” in the in-game chat (interaction only, with no effect on the game) |
※ Armor crates and event crates are provided by a separate MOD.
How to Link (For Viewers)
- Open the panel on the stream page and make sure you’re logged in to Twitch.
- Enter your in-game name on the “Link” tab (and, if you want to be recognized reliably, your 17-digit Steam ID as well).
- Press “Link” (after agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy).
- You can send letters, supplies, and cheers from the buttons that appear on the “Commands” tab.
For Streamers: Installing the Panel
If it’s an official server stream, add and enable the official panel extension to your own channel from the Twitch Developer Console. Management of linked members, as well as the content and cooldowns of the commands that can be sent, are configured on the operator side (site administration).
Notes
- Linking and commands are limited to linked members logged in to Twitch.
- The effects of letters and supplies are processed by a server-side (core MOD) mechanism.
- When you want to unlink, clear the input on the “Link” tab and save, and your registration data will be deleted.
