How to Use Player Tags — Share What You're Up To with /lf, /stream, and More (Command List)

Player Tags let you use chat commands to instantly announce your status or what you’re looking for (recruiting teammates, trading, streaming, away from keyboard, and more) to people nearby or across the whole server. An icon and label appear in the HUD at the edge of your screen.

Basic Usage

  • ON: /<コマンド> (e.g. /lf)
  • OFF: /<コマンド>-off (e.g. /lf-off)
  • See everyone’s tags: /tag

There are two families of tags: “broadcast tags” and “proximity tags.”

Broadcast Tags (announce to everyone; auto-clears after about 1 hour)

While you hold one, a brief blinking notification appears on everyone else’s screen. Great for spreading the word about recruiting teammates or asking for help.

Command Display Purpose
/lf Looking for Friends Recruiting people to play with
/trade Wants to Trade Wants to buy or sell
/party Recruiting Quest Buddies Take on missions and quests together
/bm Recruiting for Blood Moon Face the horde night together
/mentor Available to Guide (Mentor) A veteran showing newcomers the ropes
/new Newcomer / Wants Guidance A beginner looking to be shown around
/vc Looking for Voice Chat Wants to talk right now
/open Base Open to Visitors Welcoming visitors to your base
/sos Requesting Rescue Calling everyone when you need help
/share Sharing Extras Announcing you’re handing out spare supplies
/build Looking for Building Help Recruiting help with base construction
/raid Recruiting for Expedition Recruiting company for POI runs and long trips

Proximity Tags, Timed (for people nearby; auto-clears after about 1 hour)

These show on your own HUD with the remaining time, and notify players within a 15m radius (they disappear a few seconds after you move away).

Command Display Purpose
/stream Live Streaming Letting people know you’re streaming (mind the camera)
/photo Taking Photos Letting people know you’re filming (mind the camera)
/shop Running a Stall Letting people know you’re selling on the spot
/afk Away From Keyboard Letting people know you’re away
/busy Busy Letting people know not to bother you

Proximity Tags, Permanent (stay until you turn them off)

These never auto-clear and remain until you remove them with /<コマンド>-off.

Command Display Purpose
/voiceok Voice Chat OK Voice is fine
/textonly Text Chat Only Prefers text
/listen Listen-Only (No Mic) Just listening
/en English OK English is fine
/jp Japanese Only Prefers Japanese only
/solo Prefers Solo Mainly wants to play solo
/nopvp No Combat Signaling you have no intention to fight

* /voiceok, /textonly, and /listen are a toggle set — only one can be active at a time. The same goes for /en and /jp: turning one ON removes the other.

ON Just by Holding It: 5 Dedicated Items

For the streaming, stall, photo, away, and busy proximity tags, you can broadcast the same tag while holding a dedicated item instead of typing the command. Put it away and it turns OFF automatically.

Item Tag Broadcast
Streaming Lantern Live Streaming
Stall Banner Running a Stall
Photo Board Taking Photos
Away Torch Away From Keyboard
Busy Torch Busy

ON Just by Wearing It: Clothing for Broadcast Tags

The 12 broadcast-type tags, such as recruiting teammates or wanting to trade, can be broadcast to people nearby the whole time you wear a dedicated “undergarment” (take it off and it turns OFF). Each tag comes in three tiers, T1 through T3, and the equip slot depends on the category.

Slot Matching Tags
Head Looking for Friends / Recruiting Quest Buddies / Recruiting for Expedition
Hands Wants to Trade / Sharing Extras / Looking for Building Help
Chest Available to Guide (Mentor) / Newcomer · Wants Guidance / Requesting Rescue
Feet Recruiting for Blood Moon / Base Open to Visitors / Looking for Voice Chat

Whereas the command version of a broadcast tag gives “a blinking notification to everyone on the server and auto-clears after about 1 hour,” the clothing version is a proximity, permanent type that broadcasts “to people nearby, the whole time you wear it.” Use it as a standing sign when you always want to be showing it.

These dedicated items (both the 5 tools and the clothing) can be crafted cheaply at the WRT Crafting Station (2 wood, 3 cloth).

In-Game Manual

You can read how to use each tag on the skills screen → the “Books” tab, under the categories “Looking for Friends / Trade / Co-op · Companion Recruiting / Newcomer · Mentor / Status Changes / Community” (free, read-only).
