🔑 Today’s Highlights
- Major overhaul of the Tasa-series weapons — now “high-risk weapons” that are super-powered during Blood Moon but carry risks the rest of the time.
- Added a “proximity lottery” event for the bear statues — approaching a bear statue triggers a win/lose draw.
- [In development] Rebuilding “corpse looting,” which lets you grab items from the bodies of zombies you’ve killed (*not yet live on the server).
✨ New Features & Changes
Major Overhaul of the Tasa-Series Weapons
We’ve made significant changes to the Tasa-series weapons (special weapons based on the stone axe).
- Greatly buffed during Blood Moon — damage dealt is roughly 5x and stamina consumption is roughly 1/5. They shine as your main weapon during the Blood Moon.
- Risky to carry in normal times — while held in hand, you may randomly be afflicted with a debuff called “Tasa’s Curse.” The draw result is shown on screen.
- How to obtain — available from the trader (Joel)’s stock and from field loot (about as easy to get as a stone axe).
- Dedicated repair/scrap loop — scrapping a Tasa-series weapon yields a dedicated material, “Tasa Fragment,” which you then use to repair it (it’s now a closed loop that can’t be fixed with normal repair materials).
- Cleaned-up display names — we removed the trailing serial numbers (e.g. “Tasa Stone Axe 01”) and unified them into clean names like “Tasa Stone Axe” (128 types).
- Buff indicator — while buffed during the Blood Moon, “Tasa Awakening” is shown on the HUD, so you can tell at a glance that the weapon is powered up.
Bear Statue Proximity Lottery Event
Approaching a bear statue now triggers a win/lose draw.
- A win grants a buff; a loss inflicts a debuff (8 patterns in all).
- When you win the draw, a notification is shown on screen.
- You can now check the bear statue’s score as a number in the “Event” tab of the ESC menu.
Action Skills
Action skills are a system where the more you use the corresponding item, the more the skill levels up and improves your stats.
- This time, we’ve reworked the flashlight and torch skills, switching from the previous “penalty for low quality” approach to a “bonus the more you use it” approach.
- We fixed the wiring so that Tasa-series weapons and leather knuckles correctly build proficiency in their corresponding action skills.
Expanded In-Game Guidebook
We’ve substantially built out the guidebook that lets you check how to play from within the game.
- Added explanations for action skills, equipment variations, events, and more.
- The trader’s contract tickets are now grouped together in the “Contract” tab.
Equipment & Item Adjustments
- All variations of the added equipment can now be scrapped.
- We reverted the color glow (glowing effect) of each zombie rank.
🛠 Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the client would crash on startup in certain situations.
- Fixed a bug where the map display would break, and applied the boundaries of today’s event region.
- Fixed an issue where the names of some status effects (ailments) were not displayed on the left side of the screen.
- Fixed an issue where on-screen text colors were not displayed correctly.
- Fixed an issue where affixes (special effects) on added items could not be attached to armor, weapons, or drones.
- Fixed an issue where the Blood Moon (night raid) survival reward was not being granted.
🧪 In Development (*Not Yet Live on Server / In Testing)
The following are features being developed and tested locally, and are not yet reflected on the server.
Corpse Looting (Items from the Bodies of Killed Zombies)
We’re rebuilding “corpse looting,” which lets you grab items directly from the bodies of zombies you’ve killed.
- We’ve overhauled the internal mechanics and are reviving it via a system where an equipment set’s effect enables corpse scavenging.
- We’ve also prepared an instruction page for corpse looting in the guidebook.
- It’s still at an experimental stage and, being under testing, is not yet live on the server.
