What is this MOD?
7 Days to Die has a setting called “Loot Respawn” where the contents of a container you’ve already looted come back after a certain number of days. With the newer sandbox options, it seems you can only choose this number of days from a fixed set of choices such as “Disabled, 5, 7, 10…”.
This Loot Respawn Days Override appears to be a small MOD that removes that limitation and lets you set the respawn interval to any value from 1 to 99 days. The author is straw, version 1.0 (updated 2026-06-22). Rather than heavily rewriting the game’s internals, it seems fair to think of it as a simple tweak MOD focused purely on widening the range of setting options.
Main Features
- Without being tied to preset numbers, you can freely specify the respawn interval anywhere from 1 to 99 days.
- It makes fine adjustments to suit your server or play style easier — whether you want to “shorten it to keep resource gathering active” or, conversely, “make it much longer to preserve the tension of exploration.”
- Because its functionality is focused on a single point, it’s presumed to be a type that is relatively unlikely to conflict with other large overhaul MODs (when actually running them together, it’s safest to check for yourself).
Installation Tips
As with typical MODs, you’ll likely place the folder downloaded from Nexus into your Mods folder. If you’re using it on a server, it’s reassuring to check the host side (and whether disabling EAC is required).
Since the respawn days take effect through the sandbox settings when creating a new world, we recommend that you ideally confirm it takes effect on a new world. Because the behavior when applying it to an existing world after the fact may vary depending on your environment, we can’t say for certain. Backing up your save before installing is even safer.
Who is this for?
- People who feel the vanilla loot respawn setting “doesn’t fit the way I play.”
- Administrators running multiplayer servers or communities who want to fine-tune the resource balance.
- People who don’t want a large-scale game overhaul, but rather want to pinpoint just the freedom of the settings and raise it.
Conversely, for those who want to change combat or the items themselves, it may feel lacking. It can be described as a clear-purpose convenience MOD, purely for “widening the choices for respawn days.”
