V3.0 makes trader inventories noticeably more impressive. There are two key points: “you can buy higher-grade gear” and “it’s easier to gather the tools you need to prepare.” Your regular shopping trips are now more rewarding and convenient than before.
The Biggest Change: Quality 6 Items on the Shelves
Until now, trader weapons, armor, and tools only went up to Quality 5 at most, but in V3.0 Quality 6 (the highest tier) items have started to appear. This covers a wide range of categories, including melee weapons, guns, various armor types (light/medium/heavy), and rare tools.
That said, high-quality items seem to be set up so that they appear more often as the trader’s tier (rank) increases, so Quality 6 won’t suddenly show up right from the early game. Look forward to the stock quality improving as you keep trading with a trader.
MOD Parts Are Easier to Get
The selection of MOD parts for upgrading weapons and armor has also been improved. Previously only a limited range of qualities would appear, but in V3.0 a wide range of MOD qualities show up, and they start to become available a little earlier as well.
New MOD parts have been added too—for example, you’ll find melee modification parts, shotgun and drum magazine-related parts, and parts for drones. The range of gear customization has expanded.
Handy Changes to Tools and Food
The anvil and bellows, which are essential for crafting, used to be rare items that would “show up if you were lucky,” but in V3.0 they appear in stock more reliably. That means less running around when you want to set up your forge equipment.
The food and medicine selection has also been adjusted, with items like honey added.
