Survivors HUD (Author: ZV4X / Category: User Interface) is a MOD that makes the on-screen interface in 7 Days to Die just a little more convenient. Its main feature seems to be displaying “hydration,” “food,” and “temperature”—values that are normally hard to check at a glance—right next to your health and stamina gauges.
What Kind of MOD Is It?
On the vanilla HUD, survival elements like hunger, thirst, and body temperature can’t be checked in detail without opening a menu. This MOD keeps them displayed on the HUD at all times, so you can tell your current condition “without having to switch screens every time.” Food and hydration are reportedly shown as percentages, making it easier to intuitively grasp how soon you’ll need to resupply.
Rather than changing game balance or items, it’s positioned as a display-focused MOD that simply refines how information is presented.
Key Features
- Adds hydration, food, and temperature indicators next to health and stamina
- Food and hydration are shown as percentages, making remaining levels easy to read
- Although it’s designed to be used together with the same author’s
Extended Inventory, it appears to work on its own as well - On Alpha 21 versions, the description notes that while a quest is active, the indicators can be overlapped and hidden by the version watermark (e.g., Alpha 21.2 (b16))
Installation Tips
Installation is the same as with typical MODs: extract and place it into your Mods folder. As a note, the author clearly states that it will not work unless you disable EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat). Since MODs that rewrite the HUD don’t get along with EAC, be sure to turn EAC off in the startup settings before using it.
It’s also noted that it may conflict with other HUD-related MODs. If you already have a MOD that changes the HUD installed, it’s safest to stick with just one, or to check for overlapping displays as you install it. Regarding version compatibility, we recommend checking whether it matches your game version in the Nexus files section before installing.
Backing up your save data before installing is also a good idea, just to be safe.
Who Is It For?
- Players who want to avoid being suddenly weakened by thirst or hunger and want to manage their status properly
- Players who want all their information available on the HUD alone, without opening a menu
- Players who want to pair it with the same author’s
Extended Inventoryto make the whole UI more comfortable at once
Conversely, if you’re already using a large-scale HUD overhaul MOD, you’ll need to watch out for conflicts. It can be called a MOD suited to those who “want to slightly boost readability without changing how the game plays.”
