Beast Tamer — Run a Ranch from Animal Dens, and Shake Things Up with Hunting Grounds and Predators [Cross-Play Compatible]

🐺 The Beast Tamer is a job where you command animals to run a ranch. It requires no MODs, so you can play it with chat commands even on cross-play servers. Just build an animal den and leave it be to earn income, and you can also shake up the field with hunting grounds and predators — it’s a slow-and-steady job for those who like to build things up over time.

Your Main Income — Ranching with “Animal Dens”

Type /den where you’re standing to place an animal den. While a den exists, you earn passive income just by being online, and livestock builds up over time.

  • /den … Place an animal den (herbivore ranch) at your current location.
  • /den predator … A predator den (high income, requires Tier 2).
  • /den exotic … An exotic ranch (highest income, requires Tier 4).
  • /den harvestShip out all accumulated livestock at once for a lump-sum reward.
  • /den list … Check your list of dens, their type, growth rate, and coins available to ship.
  • /den clear … Remove all of your own dens.

The more dens you build and the higher their tier, the more your income grows (the placement limit increases with tier).

Den Types

Type Placement Command Characteristics
🐄 Herbivore Ranch /den Standard, low-risk. A stable type that’s rarely targeted
🐺 Predator Den /den predator High income (requires Tier 2). But easily targeted by poaching
🦌 Exotic Ranch /den exotic Highest income (requires Tier 4). High-value livestock

Dens “Grow”

The dens you place grow as time passes, increasing both passive income and shipping volume (peaking after a few days). The longer you keep a den, the more it earns, so settle in and manage it for the long haul. Even if the prey a den produces gets killed and disappears, the den itself does not vanish. It’s only removed when you type /den clear.

Shipping /den harvest

Separately from passive income, livestock builds up in the den over time. When the moment is right, type /den harvest to sell off the accumulated livestock in bulk and receive a lump-sum reward. You can earn on two tracks — the little-by-little passive income, and the lump-sum income from shipping.

⚠ Hoard Too Much and You’ll Get “Poached”

If you leave livestock piling up without shipping it out, players in the underworld trade (the underworld) will approach your den and use the /rob command to poach (steal) your shipment (it isn’t taken automatically). The dens most at risk are those with large accumulations and predator dens. Since you lose your accumulated stock if you fall victim, it’s safest to collect frequently with /den harvest. Den locations are pinned on the map, so other players can see them too. Note that T1 (rookie) dens are exempt from poaching.

Other Beast-Handler Commands

  • /ranchRelease prey into a hunting ground. Deer, boar, rabbits, and more appear as fodder for hunting. The prey you release can be hunted by anyone and turned into meat — feeding into the ingredient supply for the Chef as well (you earn a taming fee / has a cooldown).
  • /beast <target>Sic a predator on a target. The higher your tier, the stronger the beast (coyote → wolf → dire wolf → mountain lion → bear → boss bear Grace).
  • /huntSummon a raid boss beast. A guided hunt where taking it down together earns the Beast Tamer big experience.
  • /pet <target> … A service that lends a target a friendly companion (guard animal) and a buff.

Part of the Food Chain

Players hunt the prey the Beast Tamer releases, and the meat becomes fodder for the Chef — creating a flow of 🐺Beast Tamer → 🦌prey → 🍖meat → 🍳cooking. Together with the Farmer‘s crops, it’s one of the pillars supporting the town’s “food.”

Tips for Playing

  • First, build a den and lay the foundation of passive income. Once you’re comfortable, take on the high-income dens with /den predator and /den exotic.
  • Ship frequently. Hoarding gets you poached by the underworld, so collect early with /den harvest.
  • The higher your tier (check with /status), the more dens you can place, and the stronger the beasts from /beast become.
  • Hunting grounds are appreciated when the hunting spot is nearby. Use /ranch near bases where people gather.

Take up the job from the Job List page, or type /job 調教師 in chat.
