Radio Communications Mod – Mumble Proximity Chat

0.9.9 (18 Oct 2026)
- Batteries no longer charge near ham or relay stations. They recharge only in a Radio Charging Dock or while you ride in a vehicle with a Vehicle Radio, about 30 minutes from empty either way.
- Hosts: the station recharge time setting (RadioStationRechargeSeconds) is removed from item_modifiers.xml. Station charging can still be switched back on by adding RadioChargeRange to a station in blocks.xml.
- The package now includes the mod guide as a PDF.
0.9.8 (14 Oct 2026)
- Charging the batteries you carry near a powered ham or relay station now takes about 60 minutes for a full charge, half the previous speed. The charging dock and the Vehicle Radio still take 30 minutes.

- Hosts: the station rate is a new setting, RadioStationRechargeSeconds (3600), on the Radio Battery in item_modifiers.xml.

- Talk time is now 15 minutes per battery in both radios (was 20 for the Walkie-Talkie and 30 per battery for the Field Radio). A Field Radio with both batteries gives 30 minutes (was 60).
- A flat battery now takes 30 minutes to recharge (was 20), wherever it charges.
- Ham Radio Station reach reduced from 4,000 m to 3,000 m (breaking up to 3,300 m). With a powered Radio Relay Station within 50 m of it, the ham station reaches 5,000 m (breaking up to 5,500 m). The relay station's own reach stays 2,000 m.
- The Radio Charging Dock no longer needs a radio station. It charges while anything live on your electrical grid is within 20 m: a running generator, a solar bank in daylight, a charged battery bank, or anything they power. It needs no…
