Pistol (Bundle) is a bundle-type item handed out as an early-game (roughly Tier 1) quest reward, just as its internal name (questRewardT1HandgunBundle) suggests. In 7 Days to Die, a bundle exists in your inventory as a single “box,” and opening it—by right-clicking, for example—lets you take out the gear inside. In the case of this bundle, the contents are meant to be a handgun (Pistol family).
When to Use It
- Shoring up your early-game firepower: Being guaranteed a handgun during those opening days—when you can’t yet assemble a gun at the workbench and don’t have the parts together—is a big advantage.
- Run it together with ammo: The Pistol is generally designed to use 9mm rounds. Before you open the bundle, it’s reassuring to also confirm how you’ll get ammunition (buying from a trader or crafting it).
How to Obtain / Craft It
This isn’t an item you craft yourself; it’s the type you receive as a reward for completing a quest. You’ll get chances to obtain it by progressing through a trader’s early quests or clear-out missions such as base-sweeping tasks.
Quick Tip
Since it can be carried around as a “box” until you open it, you can also use it to keep your inventory tidy or wait until you’re back at base to sort out your weapons. The quality (Tier) is intended to be modest, so think of it as a stopgap weapon for the early game, and plan to switch over as soon as you get your hands on a higher-performance gun.
