🏁 The Great Escape (Manhunt) is an asymmetric survival event pitting the hunter against the hunted. It takes the framework of the classic Dead by Daylight and puts it on 7DAYSTODIE.JP’s cross-play foundation as a trial release (PoC) version. No MOD required — you can play it on cross-play servers spanning PS5, Xbox, and Steam.
How to Play
- Start the event with
/escape. Unlock points (multiple) and an escape gate spawn in the surrounding area. - Teammates join with
/escape join. - Survivors unlock a point by staying at each unlock point and holding for a set amount of time.
- Unlocking all points opens the escape gate. Reach the gate and it’s an escape success = reward.
- To cancel, use
/escape cancel.
Survive the Hunter
During the event, hunters (NPCs) attack at regular intervals (and become more ferocious at night). If you’re taken down, you go down.
- 🤝 Rescue: Get close to a downed teammate to rescue them (rewarded for the contribution).
- ❌ Elimination: If a rescue doesn’t come in time, you’re eliminated.
- Win/Loss: If even one person escapes, the survivors win; if everyone is wiped out, the hunter wins. There is a time limit.
Rewards
- Escape success: reward coins.
- Unlock and rescue contributions: contribution bonus.
Tips for Playing
- Splitting up to unlock is faster. Playing decoy to draw off the hunter is also effective.
- Don’t leave downed teammates behind — go for the rescue. If everyone survives, everyone gets rewarded.
- You can take it on solo, but unlocking while fending off the hunter is thrilling. We recommend tackling it with teammates.
This is a trial release (PoC) version. Depending on how it’s received, we plan to expand it with a PvP mode where a human becomes the hunter, and enhanced generator and down effects on MOD-enabled servers. We look forward to your feedback.
