Among 7DTD’s medical items, the First Aid Kit is a top-tier item for “recovering from serious status effects all at once.” According to its description, it combines several effects: stopping bleeding, treating deep wounds, boosting the healing speed of abrasions, and suturing lacerations. Whereas bandages and First Aid Bandages are meant for minor injuries, it’s best to think of the First Aid Kit as your reliable trump card when you’ve taken serious damage.
When to Use It
Its prime use is when you suffer bleeding or lacerations during a Blood Moon or while out exploring. Fighting on while carrying status effects tends to leave your healing unable to keep up, causing you to collapse, so once you’re in a dangerous state, don’t hesitate to use one. Because it covers multiple effects at once, it minimizes losses in an emergency.
If you’re acting alongside teammates, you can treat other players with the second action (by default, the equivalent of a right-click operation). Since you can heal from the rear when a frontline player gets hurt, this is an especially valuable way to use it in co-op play.
Obtaining and Preparing
First Aid Kits are mainly obtained through medical crafting, or from traders and various containers. Since it’s not something you can craft right away, we recommend hanging onto them once you find some and saving them for a crucial moment. Keeping one or two on you at all times lets you handle even an unexpected serious injury with composure.
