White River Territory (WRT) is a custom MOD running on our community’s servers. It adds a major new axis — fighting over territory — on top of standard survival, and it’s built to keep you playing for the long haul, whether solo or as a team. Here we’ll walk through the main systems in order.
Regions (Territory)
- The map is divided into numerous regions (zones).
- Who is in which zone, and which faction controls it, is tracked as the territory situation.
- Depending on the region you’re in, your region-entry buffs and status display will change.
National Power
- Each faction’s strength is expressed by a number called “National Power.”
- National Power rises and falls based on region control and event results, and the balance of power across the whole server shifts accordingly.
- National Power is like a score that shows “which faction is on a roll right now.”
Factions (Teams)
- Players belong to one of the factions and act within it.
- Cooperative play within your faction, securing territory, and transferring between factions form the core of the gameplay.
- You can take part solo, but teaming up with allies makes territory battles far more fun.
Jobs (Professions)
- There are jobs such as building, mining, cooking, farming, combat, and exploration, and you build up proficiency through the corresponding activities.
- Job-specific armor sets and special skills are available, so you can develop your own role.
- We recommend starting as a “jack-of-all-trades” and then specializing in whatever direction you like.
Events
WRT regularly hosts its own events. Some notable ones:
- Higashi Pharmaceutical Challenge … A time attack where you climb a building with no gear (for details, see Events)
- Bear Event … A National Power event centered on the bear statues
Getting Started
- First, play through the early game as usual and build up your living base (Early-Game Roadmap)
- Pick a job that interests you and raise your proficiency as you play
- Join in factions, territory, and events, and enjoy the gameplay unique to this server
Some features may require a client-side MOD update to display (see MOD Installation Basics). If there’s anything you’re unsure about, feel free to ask on the forums or Discord.
