Travel in Comfort with "Fast Travel" — Trader-to-Trader Warping

This is a travel-assist MOD for anyone tired of hoofing it across the vast map of 7 Days to Die. Here we introduce what it’s all about in Japanese, based on the description on its distribution page.

What kind of MOD is it?

It seems to be a MOD where the Ham Radio located on a trader’s premises functions like an NPC, offering a fast-travel service between traders. It’s made by JustAIter and released for v3.0. In addition to traveling back and forth between traders you’ve already visited, it reportedly also supports warping to arbitrary waypoints.

Main features

  • Trader-to-trader warping: If you’ve visited two or more traders, you can apparently pick your destination from the Ham Radio.
  • Fee-based: The setup appears to charge a base of 1000 Dukes per trip, plus 100 Dukes for every 100m of distance (adjustable via blocks.xml, it says).
  • Landing point: You touch down on the helipad within the trader, and if there isn’t one, you’re placed just outside the premises.
  • Self-crafted radio: You can also craft the radio yourself, but in that case the usage fee goes up by 50%.
  • Travel to quick waypoints: Limited to areas you’ve already visited, you can also warp to any point. However, the fee is 50% higher than traveling to a trader, and it’s said there’s about a 50% chance of drawing zombies to your landing point, so it seems to strike a balance between risk and reward.

Installation tips

According to the distribution page, this seems to be a MOD that requires you to turn EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) OFF and to install it on both the server and the client. Note that in multiplayer, everyone participating needs to have their environments aligned.

The general procedure is to download the zip and extract its entire contents into the Mods folder (by default …7 Days To DieMods). Once installed, you can use it by examining the Ham Radio at a trader. Since the fees and the surcharge rate for self-crafted radios can apparently be adjusted in blocks.xml, it’s a good idea to review the numbers to suit your own server.

*Behavior may change depending on the version and the state of game-side updates. Before installing, please check the latest description and supported versions on Nexus.

Who is it recommended for?

  • People who want to efficiently run laps of trader quests
  • People who want to cut down travel time on a large map but want to keep it in check as a “service” with fees and risk rather than a full-on teleport
  • Operators who want to unify the means of travel across the whole server (since it’s premised on EAC OFF and everyone installing it)

Conversely, it seems to be a MOD that isn’t suited to those who want to enjoy vanilla’s travel restrictions themselves, or to environments where you want to keep EAC enabled.
