Loot Everything With "Lootable Everything"

“Lootable Everything” is an item & loot MOD by TribalDragon. The world of 7 Days to Die is full of objects that do nothing when you interact with them, but this MOD appears to turn those “mere decorations” into containers you can actually loot.

What kind of MOD is it?

This MOD assigns custom loot tables to objects that can’t be opened in vanilla, letting you pull items out of them. According to the author, it runs server-side only (and locally, of course, in single-player), so its appeal seems to lie in the convenience of not having to distribute anything to the client side. It’s the kind of MOD that raises the density of exploration, letting small discoveries of “oh, I can loot this too” pile up every time you wander the world.

Main Features

Here are some examples of the containers that become lootable and what they hold.

  • Piano … paper, polymer, duct tape, wood, brass, lead, leather, mechanical parts
  • Solar Bank … electronic parts, car battery, solar cells (which can be repaired or sold to traders)
  • Computer … electronic parts, scrap polymers, scrap iron
  • Pet Cage / Doghouse … rotting flesh, feathers, raw meat, eggs, nitrate
  • Water Barrels, Water Fountains, and IV Stands (drips) … various kinds of water, blood packs, and more
  • Brown Boxes and Pallets … a wide range of resources and items that can be sold to traders
  • Altars, Toilets, and Urinals, and other more novelty-oriented containers

On top of that, some of the newly lootable items have also been assigned an EconomicValue for selling, so it seems care has been taken to help pad out your dukes income.

Installation Tips

As with typical server-side MODs, you’ll likely install it by extracting and placing it in the Mods folder of your server (or your single-player game folder). The author notes the following points.

  • It will apply even on existing saves, as long as the areas are unexplored.
  • If you want it to take effect in areas you’ve already explored, a chunk reset is required.
  • When resetting chunks, the author strongly urges you to always back up your save data.

Before installing, it’s a good idea to check the Nexus distribution page (MOD #3805) for the latest information on compatibility with your game version and conflicts with other MODs.

Who Is It For?

  • Exploration-focused players who want to loot “every last corner” of the world’s objects
  • Server operators who want to install it without needing to distribute anything to clients
  • Anyone who wants to gently boost their early- to mid-game resources and dukes income

Rather than adding flashy systems, this is the kind of MOD that quietly raises the resolution of the existing world. It seems well suited as a “next move” for anyone who’s starting to find vanilla exploration a bit lacking.
