Bigger Backpack (Larger Storage and Quality Of Life Improvements) is a QoL (quality-of-life) MOD that expands your inventory slots while cutting down on the small frustrations of exploring. It solves the “not enough backpack space” and “forgot to grab that loot” problems, letting you play at a smoother pace.
This page is a template for setup notes. I’ll keep building it out by gradually adding my impressions from actually using it.
What Kind of MOD Is It?
- Expands backpack capacity (more inventory slots)
- Extends the lifetime of drop bags (dropped loot bags) to prevent you from missing pickups
- Extends how long corpses remain, making them easier to loot
- Makes unsearched containers stand out, reducing the loot you overlook while exploring
Supported Versions & Installation
- Download the latest version from the original Nexus page
- Place it in your
Mods/folder - The capacity expansion (UI-related) part goes on the client side, while the server-rule part may also be needed on the server side. For multiplayer, installing it on both is the safe bet
- *Check the Nexus page for the supported versions (be sure to verify the latest compatibility status before going live)
Compatibility & Caveats
- Because there is a possibility of conflicts with other MODs that change the backpack UI, it’s safest to limit yourself to just one MOD of this type
- Increasing capacity too much loosens the game balance (the tension of inventory management), which is a matter of personal taste
How to Enjoy It / Impressions
- (I’ll add notes on the ideal capacity setting, compatible MODs, and features I found handy as I actually use it)
Compatibility: See each Nexus page (verification required) / Genre: QoL (quality-of-life)
